Machine wash

Of high quality, the silk of our comforters is very resistant to machine washing at 30°C:

• Use a special detergent for silk.
• Set your machine to delicate/silk cycle at 30°.
• Let the comforter air dry.
• Iron with a gentle iron when the comforter is still slightly damp; do not put too much pressure on the fabric as this could damage or burn it.

Hand washing

If you would rather wash the comforter by hand:

• Use a special detergent for silk.
• Leave the comforter to soak for a few minutes in a basin of lukewarm water.
• Gently squeeze the comforter into the water without rubbing because silk is more sensitive when wet.
• Then rinse with cold water, possibly adding a few drops of white vinegar to remove soap residue and restore shine.
• Avoid wringing, instead place the comforter between two clean terry towels and dab it.
• Let it air dry.
• Iron with a gentle iron when the comforter is still slightly damp; do not put too much pressure on the fabric as this could damage or burn it.

Some special attentions

As a natural fiber, silk deserves some special attention:

• Do not rub the stains, dab them gently with a white cloth dampened with lemon juice or white vinegar diluted in lukewarm water.
• Do not use bleach.
• Do not add fabric softener, it makes the material greasy and heavy.
• Don't wring it out.
• Do not spray it with water when ironing.
